Hike to Bouquet Falls in Santa Clarita Valley
Like a good love letter, some of the best hiking trails are short and sweet. Cue the hike to Bouquet Falls in Santa Clarita Valley’s Bouquet Canyon. At under a mile round-trip, wander under Fremont cottonwoods and Engelmann oaks alongside Bouquet Creek to the two-tiered falls.
The signed trailhead points the way from the parking area. Much of the first stretch is paved, until a large roundabout canopied by a large Engelmann oak.
A stone bridge that passes over the creek and then the trail gets a little tangled amongst the boulders. But it all stays close to the water, so follow the path up the creek until you finally cross over it when you see a clear stepping-stone route.
Once you cross the creek, it’s a short distance to the first tier of Bouquet Falls. Climb up a few boulders to get to the upper tier, which is the real jewel of this oasis.
From the CA-14 take the Sand Canyon Rd. exit and head north. Turn right on Sierra Hwy. and then make a left on Vasquez Canyon Rd., which will conclude at the intersection for Bouquet Canyon Rd. At this intersection turn right. Follow Bouquet Canyon Rd. for 8.2 miles and take a left on a paved but unmarked road. This road will lead into the parking area for Bouquet Falls. Dog-friendly.
