Redding-Made Getaway

Early Fall Getaway to Redding

Vacations are like a pizza: Everyone loves it. But the question is, what kind of pizza? Pepperoni? Cheese only? Extra olives? Redding is the pizza pleaser of weekend getaways! It’s got so much outdoor variety in such close proximity, all you have to do is choose your adventures! Like waterfall hikes?

Within 20 minutes of Redding Whiskeytown National Recreation Area has four gorgeous waterfalls and numerous hiking trails. Or get refreshed at the famous 129-foot gusher in McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park. Next day, go for a beginner-friendly bike ride from Redding’s Sundial Bridge to Shasta Dam, taking in views of snow-dusted Mount Shasta.

Are you a national park geek? (Hey, it’s a compliment!) Redding is your basecamp for visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park, where bubbling mud pots, boiling lakes, and one of California’s best high alpine summit trails await. After day-tripping to adventures, be sure to grab dinner in Redding. Pizza, anyone? Your vacation slice is Redding!
