Love _Caddyshack? _Channel Bill Murray's character, Carl Spackler, by doing the next best thing to golfing. Go frolfing! Also known as disc golf, the game has gained popularity over the years. You toss discs into chain-link baskets and move along to the next section of course. And like golf courses, some frolf courses stand out for their stellar beauty. One of the most scenic places to play your round is Coyote Point Disc Golf Course. Set in Ventura's Lake Casitas Recreation Area, it was ranked #3 in California by Disc Golf Course Review. Ahhh, accolades! See for yourself. Coyote Point's 18 holes take you on a moderate trek through some pretty rugged terrain, all while keeping the park's namesake lake in clear view. You might spot some local wildlife while you play—deer, raccoons, even mountain lions. You won't see any gophers though. And it won't be a Groundhog Day either.
BONUS CAMPING: Spend the night! Lake Casitas Recreation Area has over 400 campsites, some set right beside the lake.
The Coyote Point Disc Golf Course is free to use, but vehicle entry into the park is $15. Campsites are $25–30/night. Dog-friendly!
