Visit Reno's Brewery District and Revision Brewing in Sparks

friends having beer at Revision Brewing in Sparks Nevada

It seems like every city in the West tries to claim best craft beer and spirits status, yet Reno’s quietly done the work behind the scenes to emerge as a true best in brew—from beer to spirits, and innovative mead! Downtown’s Brewery District sets the stage as a burgeoning enclave infused with the requisite rebel spirit. Record Street Brewing is famous for its scratch-made pizza and pints, as well as its live music. The Depot is housed in an old railway headquarters, with a large patio and long tables for a communal ambience with room for social distance. The menu spans far beyond typical taproom eats. Fair warning: The HOT Chicken Sammich brings some no-joke heat! Wash it down with a glass of their refreshing Nomad IPA. Pro Tip: Nearby Black Rabbit Mead is not your usual mead! Honey sourced from the Sierra Nevada is infused with all kinds of unique herbs, spices, and fruits for a balanced cider-style libation, with just a hint of sweet.

Revision Brewing El Repaso, Citra Slam, Reno AF, and Coconut PieFace

For a big beer adventure, head to neighboring Sparks for a visit with a king of craft beer, Revision Brewing. Just east of downtown Reno, Revision got its start in industrial Sparks and has never looked back. Taproom tastings take place at picnic tables in the spacious warehouse. Order a flight from the beertender (we like the El Repaso, Citra Slam, Reno AF, and Coconut PieFace). Also nearby are Piñon Bottle Company and the new Engine 8 Urban Winery in Victorian Square—where fire pits keep you warm during an evening of tasting wines made on-site with grapes sourced from Lodi, California.
