Visit Reindeer Ridge Christmas Tree Farm in Sebastopol

The Garlock family is Christmas tree royalty in Sebastopol, and their Reindeer Ridge Christmas Tree Farm is legendary: 7 acres of Douglas firs, Monterey pines, Scotch pines, and plenty more. The Garlocks have been operating this farm since 1985.

Those who want a tree can pick up a saw and a wagon and head for the hills: staff is ready to help and ensure you cut the tree for sustainability. There’s also a variety of pre-cut trees. But even if you’re not seeking a holiday tree, it’s worth a visit for its festive atmosphere. Kids in tow are likely to love the free tractor hay rides around the farm, the colorful train ride, farm animals, and the abundant festive décor. Santa visits every weekend! The barn has been converted to a holiday headquarters where you can get everything from hot chocolate and fresh local pastries to wreaths, ornaments, and other holiday crafts.

And then there’s the views! From the farm’s ridge, eastern views spread across Cotati Valley to the Sonoma Mountains. Make an afternoon of it by bringing a lunch—there are a number of picnic spots. Or you may fuel up on Reindeer Ridge’s BBQ bratwurst, hot dogs, and hot apple cider.

IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING: Sonoma County’s Operation Christmas Tree is an example of a North Bay nonprofit committed to providing trees, lights, ornaments, tree stands, and food to local families who need a little extra support over the holidays.
