What a Ride!
Top Bike Rides in Reno Tahoe
The perfect landscape for bike rides—gorgeous desert surrounded by incredible mountains, hidden turquoise lakes, and no cars! Reno Tahoe is an under-the-radar destination for beginner-friendly trails and epic singletrack mountain biking. Ready to kick up some dust?
For beginners: Pedal a 3-mile portion of the 168-mile Tahoe Rim Trail on the Picnic Rock Vista Ride, an easygoing roll along the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Or you can ride the classic 12-mile Truckee River Bike Path, going right through downtown Reno, all the way to the city of Sparks. Intermediate and expert riders: Head for the Peavine Trails Area, well off the tourist track and just east of Truckee.
Looking for something a little more gnarly? The 9-mile Halo-Crispy Bacon Loop serves up a delicious helping of fun climbs, hairpin turns, and cross-country rolling that lets you marvel at the scenery, including Peavine Mountain (home to a popular peak-bagging hike). Ready to get off the beaten path?
BREW BONUS: Reno Tahoe is home to some of the tastiest locally crafted brews you can imagine, from casual pubs to modern alehouses. Check out these five new breweries!
