Segway LA with Another Side of Los Angeles

The hottest thing on two wheels isn't a fancy new road bike: The hottest thing on two wheels is you—on a Segway. Surprise! Another Side of Los Angeles Tours isn't just an out-of-towners' thing; it's actually a popular urban Segway tour for locals too. Instead of hitting up the predictable tourist spots like Venice Beach, you'll get more urban flavor, seeing iconic sites and visiting the historical La Brea Tar Pits. Riding these motor-powered two-wheelers is a blast and covers a lot of ground with minimal effort. Start off with a quick lesson and some Segway practice in a parking lot. Once you're comfortable, you're off! Single file like ducklings (just go with it), you'll follow your guide through LA's Miracle Mile, checking out landmarks like the Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study, LACMA's Urban Lights Exhibit, and Johnie's Coffee Shop. Then it's on to the main attraction, where you'll see (and smell) the ancient tar that's been seeping up out of the ground for tens of thousands of years. By now, riding the Segway will be second nature as you swoop and swerve through the park like a pro, learning about the animals whose bones have been almost perfectly preserved by the tar: wooly mammoths, dire wolves, and saber-toothed cats, to name a few. You can even scope out the boxes of bones they're working on today at Project 23, an open viewing work site. Nice segue to your Segway day.
