Peace Labyrinth
Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens
Hidden in LA’s historic West Adams district, the Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens is a welcome respite from the norms of urban noise. A sun-drenched retreat is found in the gardens of a lavish Italian Renaissance mansion once lived in by famed musical choreographer and director Busby Berkeley. As you enter the grounds, a feeling of calm immediately enshrouds you. Wander through the tiered meditation garden, filled with Japanese-inspired water fountains, a koi pond, and plenty of tucked-away nooks for quiet reflection.
Walk the marble labyrinth, modeled after one in Chartres Cathedral in France. People come from near and far to walk the 0.33-mile twisted path and center their busy minds. Beware: After your calming labyrinth stroll, you just might want to Nama-stay forever.
The Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens is free (donations welcome), but admission tickets are required. Hours and ticket info. No dogs.
