Oregon's New Mountain Bike Destination

Mountain Bike Southern Oregon's Klamath Falls

Southern Oregon is on a roll! Just 15 minutes from Klamath Falls, Spence Mountain is a new trail system built by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers. With over 7,400 acres, trails range from novice and e-bike friendly to fast and flowy. Ride through forest with views of the surrounding Cascades. And the scenery? Iconic! Riding (or hiking!) at Spence means huge views of Upper Klamath Lake, snowy Mount Shasta, and the regal Mount McLoughlin.

Trail Mix

Long climbs, swift descents, berms, rock gardens, jumps … stoked! Thank Klamath Trails Alliance for designing and building the phenomenal trail system at Spence Mountain. Check out a map of the area and plan your routes. Expert Riders will be challenged on the new and technical Night Hawk, and novice riders just looking for good scenery can pedal Shoal Water Trail. Want something in between? Head for Queen of the Lake.

Tip: Hikers and e-bikers are allowed on the Spence Mountain trail system! Not allowed: throttle bikes, ATVs, or equestrians.

Craft Brew Bonus

After a hearty day on the trails, Klamath Falls is just 15 minutes away, with fresh beer ready to help you refuel and rehydrate (there’s electrolytes in beer, right?!). Grab a pint of your favorite local Oregon beer at The Falls Taphouse.

Mountain Bike Race—June 18!

Participate in the mountain’s inaugural racing event! Spence Mountain Mayhem (June 18, 2023) will be the first official mountain bike race held here. Distances are categorized for advanced, intermediate, and beginner riders. Local beer, food trucks, and swag at the finish. Roll call!

The event is hosted by Klamath Trails Alliance (KTA). Registration details coming in the weeks ahead—keep updated here.

Moore Mountain Biking!

Klamath Falls and the Klamath Trails Alliance (KTA) opened a bike skills park inside the city’s Moore Park. Created by Dirt Mechanics—who built the trail systems at Spence Mountain and several trails in Bend, the skills park is ideal for working on techniques and having fun! Experts will love the jumps, drops, and corners in the park. Beginners can tackle designated sections to gain confidence.

Moore Than Biking! Set at the south end of Upper Klamath Lake, Moore Park is a shining example of excellence in the city parks system, with beautiful views of the lake! Hike, bike, and picnic here. Moore Park is kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and frisbee golf golden.
