Vineyard Bathing

Hike and picnic at Bartholomew Park in Sonoma

Woman walking her dog in a forest hiking at Bartholomew Park in Sonoma

Vineyard bathing, is that a thing? It is now! Combine forest and vineyard for blissful hiking at Bartholomew Park in Sonoma. Surrounded by beautiful open space and miles of trails, the park has a good 3-mile (round-trip) hike, starting at the South Gate Trailhead.

Take the You-Walk Miwok Trail, quickly winding by neighboring Buena Vista Winery before gradually ascending among madrones and oaks to beautiful views of the valley and vineyards. Relax on one of the benches overlooking the scenery.

Continue to Benicia’s Lake, a small oasis among redwoods. The Grape Stomp Trail leads you back to Bartholomew Park via the North Gate exit.

Pass oak-dotted picnic grounds overlooking the vineyard. Bartholomew Park Estate Vineyards and Winery is a short walk up the hill from here. Book a post-hike tasting on the Oak Knoll or purchase some wine and bring a picnic to enjoy in the wine garden. Vive Sonoma!

Bartholomew Park is located at 1000 Vineyard Lane, Sonoma. Trail Map. The hike is dog-friendly and so is the outdoors wine garden.
