Spring Up to These Amazing Events
Fun Spring Events in Redding
Shake it up, shake it all the way up to this sunniest city in the state for the most unique and fun-fueled events. Redding is true Northern California, surrounded by famous mountains (Shasta), nearby national parks and recreation areas (Lassen; Whiskeytown; Castle Crags), and the sparkling Sacramento River. Things are “Glowing Wild” at the illuminated wildlife lantern festival in Turtle Bay’s botanical gardens. Go “back to the future” at a classic car show that includes a Drive-In Movie night and cornhole tournament. And don’t miss the world’s largest bounce house for adults (okay, and kids too!).
Glowing Review!
Located where the Sundial Bridge overlooks the Sacramento River, Redding’s Turtle Bay Exploration Park is having a major glow-up this spring. The Glowing Wild Lantern Festival (happening through May 26) is colorfully lighting up the botanical gardens with giant installations of animals and plants from around the globe.
Be mesmerized as you walk among giant illuminated Asian lantern–inspired wildlife displays: Zebras, pink flamingos, frogs, pandas, crocodiles, butterflies, peacocks, and more colorfully light up the night in an ahhh-mazing way.
There’s food + drink, music, and fun extras like glowing swings!
The Big Bounce
A Bounce House for Adults! (Okay, and kids too.) Make it a Memorial Day Weekend to remember—bounce up to Redding for three days of inflatable fun. And by that we mean Big Bounce Redding (May 24–26), when the world’s largest bounce house will be here for the first time!
Don’t procrastinate, lest you get bounced out of a chance to enjoy this unique event that families, friends, kids, and kids at heart will all enjoy.
Back to the Future
Have a blast from the past! Redding’s Kool April Nites (April 19–28) is a weeklong classic car show with all kinds of fun events. There’s a Drive-In Movie night, cornhole tournament, music and food, and a Friday night car Cruise for spectators to watch vintage vehicles slow-drive the streets, throwing out the vibe.
It all leads up to the Saturday Big Show! Free bus transportation makes it easy to get to and from the festivities.
Oh, the Places You'll Rodeo!

Get an early start to the festivities with the famous Asphalt Cowboys Pancake Breakfast (May 17); this 501(c)4 non-profit organizations hosts the largest outdoor community breakfast in the country: thousands gather for flapjacks and sausage and celebrations.
It’ll help you fuel up for the exciting Redding Rodeo Parade (May 18), featuring floats, marching bands, majorettes, and the Grand Marshall.
Other Redding Rodeo events include “Family Night” and “Tuff Enough to Wear Pink,” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
