Two Wheels to Wine in Healdsburg

Bike Ride Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg and Wine Taste

Bike Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg

The rolling hills, the beautiful vineyards, and wineries with outdoor patios: Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg is wine-heaven on earth. The mostly flat backroads of the valley make exploring on two wheels easy. Rent bikes (including E-bikes) at Getaway Adventures in Healdsburg. They’ll set you up and sort you out with a mapped plan and winery recommendations.

Ride along West Dry Creek Road, where picket fences, wineries, and shaded tree-lined sections are the norm. Make a short detour across charming Lambert Bridge to the Dry Creek General Store. It’s got all kinds of artisan items, and it’s also got delicious deli sandwiches.

Wherever you wine here, you’re not going to go wrong, but we especially like Martorana, a small-production, family-run winery tucked around the bend from the roadway entrance. The family’s winemaking roots are from the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. The wine cave’s roof is actually a vibrant garden with a bench overlooking the tasting patio below. Play a little bocce while sipping their vibrant rosé.

Ride all the way to Bella Vineyards (you may have to walk your bike up the hill to reach it, unless of course you’re on an E-bike … just sayin’). Zins are Bella’s flagship, and taste even better while relaxing under one of the big oak trees. Semplicemente bello.
